Partial demolition of an 11-story prefab building – demolition of the upper 5 floors with prior hazardous material remediation.
Challenge
The prefab building contained asbestos materials and mineral fiber insulation on several floors. The lower 6 floors were to be preserved and continue in use.
Solution
Floor-by-floor demolition from top to bottom with hazardous material remediation on each floor. Special noise protection measures for the occupied lower floors.
Result
Project completed in 12 weeks without disturbing residents in lower floors. All hazardous materials professionally disposed of.
